The Battlefield 3 beta is in full swing and on the weekend some clever chaps decided to create a mod to the PC version from the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to support 128 players instead of the standard 32 because why not right We knew these things were planning to happen but that which you may not have seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement for the forum which now appears like its been pulled they claimed that playing for the hacked servers can ca use your money to become compromised stats to become altered or another issues to arise which might lead to having your money to be banned by EA. If your bank account does get banned it mean some other EA game you've on your account would even be unavailable..YIKES That is quite a punishment. Especially considering some of those mods are popping up within the official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has recently come to say the Battlefield 3 is meant for your PC and being hand-crafted for the PC I understand they're protective of their product. But punishing the consumers who pay with the product only for experimenting and then threatening all the other products they paid for of your stuff seems just mean-spirited..What do you guys think about it Does DICE and EA possess the right to do this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods for that beta Do you believe hacking and modding for PC games is just something publishers should stop worrying about Let me me know your ideas in a comment below.
